Starting from a model of olive oil demand, the minimum expenditure for the community budget dedicated to this product can be established as a function of the quantity to be disposed of : the result is a key for its division between internal consumption and exports in favour of the former. One approach, which takes account of the marginal budgetary cost of every tonne disposed of, highlights the risks of an increase in production at constant support levels.
