Possible adaptations to the quota policy. Results of a statistical survey - Do we have to drop intensification with a quota policy? A study made by SNIA and IGER covering 1782 specialized dairy farms in 1982/83 classified according to an accurate typology shows that intensification the French way i.e. intensification of fodder crops and improvement of genetics followed by an adequate complement of the daily ration, leads to an improvement of the balance sheet and an increase of income as variable costs increase stays inferior to gains on structural costs.
