Objective: To determine the cost-benefit relation of the capulín of mayo (Ardisia compressa kunth), to determine its potential as an economic complement to the coffee growers of the municipality of Sochiapa, Veracruz, Mexico.Design, methodology and approximation: For the development of the research a mixed methodology was used, with a concurrent execution, collecting the field information combining semi-structured surveys under sampling and direct observation.Limitations and implications: The lack of analyzes that provide official information on the chemical properties of the capulín of mayo are limiting in the creation of proposals on its use.Findings and conclusions: The capulín of mayo, is a neglected, wild species with agrifood and economic potential that has not been exploited due to lack of training and information for the establishment as a crop.
