This paper sums up the various means of measuring farm income provided by different micro-economic sources. In particular the characteristics of the farm accountancy information network and the uses made of it at present are examined especially with regard to the disparity in income ; the storage of information based on the analysis of data collected by the Centres de Gestion is then also examined. The problems posed by the scheduled extension of the information network are then considered. Several methods are under consideration : - the use of the accounts of those farms that are advised by the Centres de Gestion, a superficial study of the income of small farms, and in the longer term the analysis of the files built up from the management accounts kept for the attribution of aid to the modernization of farm businesses.
