The regional evolution of average income per labor unit and of its spread in Belgium - The object of the study is to examine, in Belgium, the regional evolution of average income per labor unit as well as the evolution of the spread of the income per labor unit within a sample of farm firms keeping farm records. The sample average income for labor has increased yearly at the rate of 10,92 %. On a regional basis, the annual growth rate varies from 12,53 % to 7,36 %. The growth in average income goes generally with an increasing spread. Within the same region, the situation is marked by a growing différenciation among its farmers. The regional distribution curve of income per labor unit has been characterized by a flattening phenomenon and by a tendancy towards normality. It would be desirable to regionalize the means of the income policy in order to reduce the effects of the price policy and the social inequities in agriculture.
