Abstract
Excerpt: The main objective of this paper is to describe a method of determining the cost effectiveness of home garden projects. For comparative analyses, evaluations must use consistent indicators. Donors need "proof" that home gardening projects are cost-effective interventions. Implementors need better information on what works and what doesn't. By outlining the steps in evaluation and identifying specific quantifiable indicators, this paper provides an evaluation protocol that can be tested, assessed and revised over time.
