Achieving food security for all has long been a key public policy goal in every country. It is also a global challenge, as set out in the contemporary UN Sustainable Development Goals. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 has exposed additional challenges for food policymakers. This article describes some key elements of these challenges and the responses to them.
