Abstract
The article addresses the problem of changes in the attitudes of the population in the context of COVID-19. It attempts to show the evolution of the feelings of the survey respondents as a result of the approaching and receding risk of coronavirus. The results of the research sample and the reasons for its deformation in the individual stages of the research are discussed. The changes in the behavior of society are also analyzed, including the path of transition to denial and adaptation, paying attention to both the commonness of the situation and the creation of conditions for a "new reality". The basis for the analyses were studies conducted from April to September 2020, as part of the research project "My situation during coronavirus". The analyses conducted in the article aim to answer the question: "How does the approaching and receding threat of coronavirus affect the sense of fear and denial, but also change the structure of the research group?"
