Excerpts from the Introduction: The diversification of national or regional agricultural production promises to play an increasingly important role in the economic development of many less developed countries. The reasons for this are complex but center about changes in the supply and demand for agricultural products. Yet diversification is more a subject of vague reference than actual knowledge. Little comprehensive general information is currently available for administrative or planning use. This report is an attempt to help correct that situation.
