However, variations in data and assumptions used among the studies have resulted in a wide range of estimates. This study identifies the factors causing this wide variation and develops a more consistent estimate. We conclude that the NEV of corn ethanol has been rising over time due to technological advances in ethanol conversion and increased efficiency in farm production. We show that corn ethanol is energy efficient as indicated by an energy output:input ratio of 1.34. 000034075 546__ $$aEnglish 000034075 650__ $$aCrop Production/Industries 000034075 650__ $$aResource/Energy Economics and Policy 000034075 6531_ $$aethanol 000034075 6531_ $$anet energy balance 000034075 6531_ $$acorn production 000034075 6531_ $$aenergy 000034075 700__ $$aShapouri, Hosein 000034075 700__ $$aDuffield, James A. 000034075 700__ $$aWang, Michael Q. 000034075 8564_ $$91219c501-0c96-4eef-b006-3256b8babbe5$$s172230$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/34075/files/ae020814.pdf 000034075 887__ $$ahttp://purl.umn.edu/34075 000034075 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:34075$$pGLOBAL_SET 000034075 912__ $$nMade available in DSpace on 2007-03-07T16:16:27Z (GMT).
