Excerpts from the Preface: The tabulations found in the following pages are for the most part taken from reports and statistical submissions which the countries participating in the European Recovery Program (ERP countries) have made to the Organization of European Economic Cooperation (OEEC). They have, however, been sifted from other material and rearranged in systematic form so as to give a quick and simplified view of the relevant information. The data presented to OEEC have also been supplemented, in some cases, in order to provide missing links or to place the statistics on a comparable basis. Footnotes have been added to draw attention to adjustments made or required, or to reservations recommended in the use of some of the data given by the countries.
