Excerpts from the report: This report presents detailed statistical distributions of lamb and sheep losses. Summaries of selected distributions have already been published. These, along with other unpublished distributions are presented here using 1.0 percent loss intervals for those researchers who wish to make different groupings than those already published. These statistical distributions must be used cautiously - preferably grouped, because of low frequency of observations in many loss intervals. Distributions are shown for different sizes of commercial sheep operations (those with 50 sheep or more) and for important producing subregions of the west. In the distributions, data are presented on total losses to all causes and on losses to coyotes, the principle cause. Also distributions are shown for lamb losses before and after docking, lamb losses after docking, and stock sheep losses.
