It is shown that policy action on air pollution would result in better air quality, and thus in health and economic improvements in the region. While recent modelling literature highlights the economic benefits of improving air quality on an aggregated level, this study aims to contribute to the existing literature by showing how different sectors contribute to reducing emissions of specific gases in specific areas. This paper shows that most part of the macroeconomic benefit from increased air quality in the Arctic Council countries results from taking policy action in the agricultural, industrial and residential sectors. 000333485 546__ $$aEnglish 000333485 650__ $$aEnvironmental Economics and Policy 000333485 650__ $$aInternational Relations/Trade 000333485 700__ $$aOstale Valriberas, Daniel 000333485 700__ $$aLanzi, Elisa 000333485 700__ $$aVan-Dingenen, Rita 000333485 773__ $$j2022 000333485 8564_ $$9c5e000d5-2fa6-48fd-a915-77211ac75986$$s1580654$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/333485/files/11159.pdf 000333485 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:333485$$pGLOBAL_SET 000333485 913__ $$aBy depositing this Content ('Content') in AgEcon Search, I agree that I am solely responsible for any consequences of uploading this Content to AgEcon Search and making it publicly available, and I represent and warrant that: I am either the sole creator and the owner of the copyrights and all other rights in the Content; or, without obtaining another’s permission, I have the right to deposit the Content in an archive such as AgEcon Search.
