Abstract
In the first half of 2021, the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) commissioned a representative population survey in Germany to facilitate analyses of subjective assessments and experiences of the population in rural and non-rural areas, to help prioritize political measures to level-up living conditions in rural areas. This paper provides a technical report of the survey covering the survey design and its implementation, the data checking and preparation for analysis. It provides an account of key aspects of data quality, such as non-response (at the person and survey question level) and representativeness, and presents frequency tables for all variables in the survey data.
