Abstract
Excerpts from the report: This report covers marketing prices, price spreads, costs, and channels of distribution for the principal sizes and grades of eggs, frying chickens, and turkeys sold through retail stores in San Francisco. In 1957, the San Francisco market received approximately 20 million dozen shell eggs, 26.5 million pounds of processed poultry (mostly frying chickens), and 12 million pounds of turkeys. Most of the eggs and poultry sold in the market, with the exception of frying chickens, were produced in California.
