Abstract
This paper represents the optimization of the most polluted locations in the Municipality of Bor by analyzing the concentrations of heavy metals in soil and air. The ranking is done by implementing PROMETHEE/GAIA method with an additional implementation of special PROMETHEE V method, with the standard limitations of the content of heavy metals in the soil and air. This option of multi criteria ranking of the most polluted locations, described in this paper, could be considered as a contribution to the methodology of forming the function of optimization of the most polluted locations with heavy metals. Sampling was done in four places: City Park and Institute of Minig and Metallurgy, that belong to the urban – industrial zone, and Jugopetrol and Brezonik that are located in the suburban zone. Sources of heavy metals in Bor and its surroundings are industry, traffic, fossil fuel, agricultural and other anthropogenic activities. Concentration of Pb, Cd, Hg, As and Cu was determined in soil and air. Analyses were made in relation with maximum allowable concentrations prescribed by the law of environmental protection of Serbia. The highest concentration of heavy metals in the soil and air was measured in City Park or industrial zone.
