000288222 520__ $$aIn accordance with the current of a recent economic history, that is, long-term economic change, this essay is a case study to analyze focused on concretely agricultural circumstances of Honam province that is the bread basket of the country. In the long run perspective view point, the latter half of 19C the Homan shore region comprised Naju-kun and Yungkwang-kun is an agriculture crisis, rural instability. As time goes from the first half year to the second year in 19C, the number of the region recorded a year of famine have increased. Most of them is a coastal plain land. The offices of the central government coped with the lean year in devastated district by tax exemption ; the fact of increasing scale of the tax exemption area verified the crisis of those areas. The situation of raising the scale of devastated districts by bad harvesting, especially it occurred to many times between 1876 a bad year and 1894 breaking out a peasants` uprising. The case study shows a surprising fact that the agriculture crisis in Chunra-Do(全羅道) grasped by the central government correspond with the harvesting register(秋收記) recorded by certain landlord in Yungkwang-kun.
