Abstract
It is a fact that the need to adapt to the negative impacts of climate change is urgent especially in the agricultural sector of the economy. There are many options to adapt and mitigate the impacts of climate change, however, there have been few reports whether upland corn farmers are employing climate change impacts adaptation means. Further, the conduct of statistical modeling to determine the different factors that affect farmer’s decision to employ adaptation strategies are rare, hence this study. With 91 sampled corn farmers in Sagbayan, Bohol, the factors affecting upland corn farmers’ decision to employ adaptations strategies to climate change impacts were determined through Binary Logistic Regression. Gender, farm income and total land use in farming and value of farm assets were statistically significant.
