abstract = {At the American Agricultural Economics Association meeting in 1969, Raup (17, p. 1274) noted, "With a handful of exceptions, there ate no truly large-scale firms in American Agriculture." One exception, cattle feeding, has greatly increased its scale of operations and level ~f concentration since then. Various explanations are given for this phenomenon. However, the chief focus for explaining cattle feeding concentration has been studies of economies of size of feedlots.},
