Abstract
A deterministic simulation system is used to develop alternative commodity purchase plans for a surplus commodity removal program and to show their differential impacts in terms of costs, tradeoffs, and benefits. The operation of the model is illustrated by an analysis based on purchases in fiscal 1973.
