Abstract

The concept of a kinked demand for labour curve is developed to analyse the phenomenon of off-farm work by farmers. The implications of this concept for studies in the agricultural sector are presented. Results of a linear, probit and logit probability response model to explain the probability of an operator participating in off-farm work are presented and the implications of the results are discussed.
