EFFECT OF EUROPEAN EXPORT SUBSIDIES ON CHANGING LEVELS OF U.S. POULTRY MEAT EXPORTS IN WORLD MARKETS

The European Community is the world's largest exporter of poultry meat and eggs. EC export subsidies have lowered the effective price of poultry exports and have expanded the demand for the EC product. As a result there has been a substantial substitution of EC poultry for U.S. products in world markets.
