Abstract

Management is the new watchword for the conservation of Arizona's limited common property groundwater. Impacts of management strategies are analyzed. Results demonstrate groundwater savings of about 65 percent by 2000 using water use quotas similar to recent Arizona legislation. Farm net revenues and electricity usage also decrease. A proposed pump tax is less effective. Equilibrating pump taxes are devised.
