Abstract

Three simulation models by varying the values of the production indicators were developed to assess the population behavior of herds of white-tailed deer and their economic impact in the long term. Model 1 presented decrement of animal population and economic loss by consequence. Models 2 and 3 showed positive gross margin from the second year of the project, and only in model 3 positive net margin was obtained in the year nine of the project. Show up the need for maintaining high values in the reproductive indicators to maintain or develop the animal population and achieve economic benefits in the mid/long term.
