Abstract
The aim of the article was to present the diversity of activity of local governments of Lublin province in the use of EU funds in 2007-2015, in particular the identification of differences in obtaining EU funds between rural, urban-rural and urban municipalities and identification of sources of project financing and directions of spending of EU funds by local governments located in the Lublin province. Descriptive and statistical data analyses were used, data was presented in tabular and graphic form. Based on the calculations the author found that rural communities were characterized by the lowest average activity in obtaining EU funds in 2007-2013 of all types of municipalities. The structure of the use of individual operational programs was similar in rural and semi-urban areas, which received the highest subsidies for the development of technical infrastructure and support for the labour market and education.
