abstract = {The aim of the paper was to estimate the economic value of bees in Poland in the years 2005-2014. There was estimated the value of produced bee honey and yield value of major entomophilous crops (i.e. rape and turnip, apples, pears, plums, sour cherries, sweet cherries, strawberries, currants, raspberries, gooseberries and buckwheat). In the paper were used data from the Central Statistical Office and the Research Institute of Horticulture, Apiculture Division in Pulawy and literature of the subject. To estimate the missing data was used deductive method. The estimated value of honey production in Poland ranged from 75.2 million in 2005, to 163.2 million USD in 2011. The value of crops’ pollination by using dependence ratio method was estimated about 10-15 times higher than the value of honey and varied from 698.7 million in 2005 to 1,784 million USD in 2013. In the structure of value pollination in 2014 apple trees had 39%, rape and turnip 30% and 11% raspberries. The results indicate the important role of bees in the human economy. The importance of beekeeping for bioeconomy may increase due to the growing needs of pollination, or the possibility of innovative use of bee products.},
