A total of six rice cultivars, three from each of inbred and hybrid cultivars, were used to study stomatal distribution on the leaf epidermis and its influence on yield and yield attributing characters of rice during the Boro season. The hybrid cultivars exhibited superiority in respect of number of stomata, length and breadth of stomatal apparatus. They also produced longer panicle, higher number of filled grains panicle–1, heavier grains and finally, higher grain yield ha–1 than inbreds. The higher grain yield of the hybrid cultivars might be due to higher number of large sized stomata causing higher photosynthetic efficacy, although, they produced relatively lower number of effective tillers hill–1. 000209746 650__ $$aCrop Production/Industries 000209746 6531_ $$aStomatal apparatus 000209746 6531_ $$aNumber and size 000209746 6531_ $$aInbred and hybrid cultivars 000209746 6531_ $$aBoro rice 000209746 700__ $$aSarwar, A.K.M. 000209746 700__ $$aKarim, M. 000209746 700__ $$aRana, S.M.A. 000209746 773__ $$q47$$o52$$tJournal of the Bangladesh Agricultural University$$j11$$k01$$d2013 000209746 8564_ $$9db8a0447-62ce-4db7-8630-38154c43b02e$$s1323038$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/209746/files/18207-65562-1-PB.pdf 000209746 887__ $$ahttp://purl.umn.edu/209746 000209746 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:209746$$pGLOBAL_SET 000209746 912__ $$nSubmitted by Allison Hasslen (hassl020@umn.edu) on 2015-09-23T15:15:07Z No. of bitstreams: 1 18207-65562-1-PB.pdf: 1323038 bytes, checksum: 40115da98cae1f8517170e0884d85c35 (MD5) 000209746 912__ $$nMade available in DSpace on 2015-09-23T15:15:07Z (GMT).
