000209227 520__ $$aSince a few decades, both developed and developing countries are facing increasing burdens on environmental resources, institutional, political and economic changes. The liberalization is most seen as positive to enhance farmers and smallholders’ incomes at first.

Switzerland is under pressure regarding the trade of commodities. The imported products have lower prices than indigenous products. This might induce a lower competitiveness of the sector.

Therefore, the market dynamics could change and so the behavior of the market players; farmers, transformers, wholesalers and retailers.
