Abstract
The paper presents diagnosis of incomes in different types of households in the regions of Poland. The
study was based on desk research method. Basic data come from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) from
the publication Household budgets in the years 2009-2012. Analysis of the data confirmed the differentiation
between the amount of income, available income and disposable income per one household member in
different regions of Poland, and between urban and rural residents. Revenues in the provinces of lubelskie,
opolskie, podlaskie and świętokrzyskie increased whereas the revenues in the kujawsko-pomorskie and
warmińsko-mazurskie declined. The biggest increase in households available income occurred in cities with
less than 20 thousands residents (9.3%). It resulted mainly from an increase in all social benefits. An increase
in revenues in regions widely recognized as poor should be regarded as a positive trend.
