abstract = {Productivity differences between tenant and owner operated farms have often been investigated using traditional methods. All these studies compute the partial productivity differences between the two farm ownership types. This paper takes the analysis one step further by examining the differences in efficiency among these two farm types. A stochastic frontier production function analysis reveals significant differences between the two farms with respect to input usage, productivity and technical efficiency. Factors causing the differences are identified and policy implications drawn.},
