Abstract
Objective of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of expenditures on innovation activities of
enterprises of the food industry in Poland. The paper presents an analysis of innovation activities of food
processing industry enterprises in comparison to the manufacturing enterprises and total industry enterprises
in Poland during 2009-2011. The expenditures and effects of innovation activity were examined. The food
processing industry has proven not very innovative and also the least efficient as compared to the other
groups analyzed.
