In agricultural economics, the equilibrium displacement model is a popular modeling approach that presently is not testable and consequently cannot be confirmed or falsified. This paper presents four increasingly sophisticated procedures designed to overcome this limitation of equilibrium displacement models. An empirical illustration demonstrates the usefulness of these procedures in deciding between three alternative and theoretically viable equilibrium displacement models. 000020525 546__ $$aEnglish 000020525 650__ $$aResearch Methods/Statistical Methods 000020525 700__ $$aDavis, George C. 000020525 8564_ $$948c2558b-ad59-481b-b086-1b1cad406d27$$s140404$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/20525/files/sp01da03.pdf 000020525 887__ $$ahttp://purl.umn.edu/20525 000020525 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:20525$$pGLOBAL_SET 000020525 912__ $$nMade available in DSpace on 2007-03-07T22:19:08Z (GMT).
