The first step was the transfer of land to individual farmers in the form of a lease. Later, taxation of agriculture was abolished and a number of subsidies were introduced. At the same time, China became a WTO member, which increased the competition on the Chinese market and constantly forced increases in quality and productivity of domestic agriculture. Despite almost 40 years of reform, the country still struggles with low productivity and a structural prevalence of small scale farming. Further changes in the sector will be made even more difficult by problems stemming from climate change and limited access to natural resources. The article presents the key changes in Chinese agricultural policy in the years 1978-2013 and identifies the necessary steps for reforming agriculture aimed at increasing its long-term competitiveness. / Synopsis. 000202236 546__ $$aPolish 000202236 650__ $$aAgribusiness 000202236 650__ $$aAgricultural and Food Policy 000202236 650__ $$aInternational Relations/Trade 000202236 650__ $$aPolitical Economy 000202236 6531_ $$aChina 000202236 6531_ $$aagricultural policy 000202236 6531_ $$a/ Chiny 000202236 6531_ $$apolityka rolna 000202236 700__ $$aWieliczko, Barbara 000202236 773__ $$q144$$o153$$tProblems of World Agriculture / Problemy Rolnictwa Światowego$$j15$$k30$$d2015 000202236 8564_ $$91ba843cf-8e05-4d2f-b935-35b9b2b4641b$$s293402$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/202236/files/2015_1_15.pdf 000202236 887__ $$ahttp://purl.umn.edu/202236 000202236 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:202236$$pGLOBAL_SET 000202236 912__ $$nSubmitted by Mariusz Hamulczuk (mariusz_hamulczuk@sggw.pl) on 2015-04-21T18:27:45Z No. of bitstreams: 1 2015_1_15.pdf: 293402 bytes, checksum: d441015f30aebe4fa3084f6b8312b0b1 (MD5) 000202236 912__ $$nMade available in DSpace on 2015-04-21T18:27:45Z (GMT).
