Abstract
The purpose of this article is to identify the current state of the domestic market of legume native and an
indication of the main limitations in its development. To attain the required carry out research into strengths
and weaknesses, and the opportunities and threats of native legumes market in Poland. It concluded that
over the years there has been a systematic increase of area planted fodder legumes, however, do not increase
the volume of production of the raw material. Pointed to competition from the soybean market as a product
substitution, as well as the occurrence of, among other things: territorial dispersion, small scale production
of the raw material and the lack of liquidity on the market. It was recognized that these are the factors that
led to the marginalization of the domestic market of native legumes.
