Since its inception, five years ago, they’ve recruited 55 employees, working with 1,600 smallholder farmers. They successfully produce high quality products—up to seven tons per week that meet GLOBALG.A.P. and British Retail Consortium standards. Although sales are rising, production rates are affected by an increasing amount of reject due to product handling and strict export standards. Its next strategy is to add outlets in the domestic market. This case discusses its journey towards accomplishing the opportunity, despite obstacles under the acronym GLIMPSE. 000179610 650__ $$aAgribusiness 000179610 650__ $$aCrop Production/Industries 000179610 650__ $$aEnvironmental Economics and Policy 000179610 650__ $$aLabor and Human Capital 000179610 650__ $$aLand Economics/Use 000179610 6531_ $$aFarming for the Future 000179610 6531_ $$asustainable agriculture 000179610 6531_ $$afarming 000179610 6531_ $$aenvironment 000179610 700__ $$aDominic, Theresia 000179610 700__ $$aTheuvsen, Ludwig 000179610 700__ $$aMvungi, Mussa 000179610 700__ $$aUfunguo, Ray 000179610 720__ $$aIFAMR, IFAMA$$eeditor 000179610 773__ $$q205$$o209$$tInternational Food and Agribusiness Management Review$$j17$$kB$$d2014 000179610 8564_ $$914a8ca4c-4258-4fe4-af5f-75d4fd3a2455$$s474542$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/179610/files/Homeveg_27.pdf 000179610 887__ $$ahttp://purl.umn.edu/179610 000179610 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:179610$$pGLOBAL_SET 000179610 912__ $$nSubmitted by Kathryn White (ifamr@ifama.org) on 2014-07-22T17:15:48Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Homeveg_27.pdf: 474542 bytes, checksum: de3a9e0dee9e79b0faf40c7b9aa26c62 (MD5) 000179610 912__ $$nMade available in DSpace on 2014-07-22T17:15:48Z (GMT).
