They developed a simple low-tech solar drying technology and sell dried fruits internationally, and in doing so have improved skills and incomes along the supply chain. Annual exports amount to 100 tones bought from 120 primary producer groups, grown by about 700 farmers. Producer groups are given hygiene, drying and business training, and farmers are given cultivation training. The company’s current challenge is to improve production quality in the context of ever rising competition and requirements from European buyers. 000179489 650__ $$aAgribusiness 000179489 650__ $$aAgricultural and Food Policy 000179489 650__ $$aAgricultural Finance 000179489 650__ $$aCommunity/Rural/Urban Development 000179489 650__ $$aCrop Production/Industries 000179489 650__ $$aDemand and Price Analysis 000179489 650__ $$aEnvironmental Economics and Policy 000179489 650__ $$aFarm Management 000179489 650__ $$aInternational Development 000179489 650__ $$aInternational Relations/Trade 000179489 650__ $$aLabor and Human Capital 000179489 6531_ $$asolar technology 000179489 6531_ $$aproducer cooperatives 000179489 6531_ $$ahealthy dried fruits 000179489 6531_ $$astrategic partnerships 000179489 6531_ $$ainternational markets 000179489 700__ $$aYamoah, Fred 000179489 700__ $$aBrett, Adam 000179489 700__ $$aMorris, Ian 000179489 720__ $$aIFAMR, IFAMA$$eeditor 000179489 773__ $$q49$$o56$$tInternational Food and Agribusiness Management Review$$j17$$kB$$d2014 000179489 8564_ $$9e15fae93-c4ed-4373-b641-5655dea4efa7$$s459408$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/179489/files/FON_5.pdf 000179489 887__ $$ahttp://purl.umn.edu/179489 000179489 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:179489$$pGLOBAL_SET 000179489 912__ $$nSubmitted by Kathryn White (ifamr@ifama.org) on 2014-07-21T22:31:02Z No. of bitstreams: 1 FON_5.pdf: 459408 bytes, checksum: 190eb705eac27436e8c078cb43ce551a (MD5) 000179489 912__ $$nMade available in DSpace on 2014-07-21T22:31:02Z (GMT).
