In this paper. these two approaches are synthesised by encompassing debtors' supply and demand behaviour in u partial equilibrium framework. The preliminary results indicate both the significance of the debt overhang in debtor nations' production and consumption decisions, and tend to suggest that debt write-offs could lead to increases in demand for agricultural goods. The investigation of overhang reduction can potentially be used to help settle the current controversy on the size and distribution of impacts from debt forgiveness policies, thus contributing valuable insights into targeting and institutional debates. 000170921 546__ $$aEnglish 000170921 650__ $$aAgricultural and Food Policy 000170921 650__ $$aAgricultural Finance 000170921 650__ $$aInternational Development 000170921 650__ $$aInternational Relations/Trade 000170921 650__ $$aResearch Methods/ Statistical Methods 000170921 6531_ $$apartial equilibrium model 000170921 6531_ $$adebt 000170921 6531_ $$aoverhang 000170921 6531_ $$aagriculture trade 000170921 700__ $$aLocke, Christopher 000170921 700__ $$aAhmadi-Esfahani, Fredoun Z. 000170921 8564_ $$9b30e3411-625a-4fc2-a706-15a613f98ebd$$s3514236$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/170921/files/1995-08-01-03.pdf 000170921 887__ $$ahttp://purl.umn.edu/170921 000170921 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:170921$$pGLOBAL_SET 000170921 912__ $$nSubmitted by Elizabeth Hilber (hilb0033@umn.edu) on 2014-05-29T19:27:44Z No. of bitstreams: 1 1995-08-01-03.pdf: 3514236 bytes, checksum: f19547e7a4571800d1d357f35147edf5 (MD5) 000170921 912__ $$nMade available in DSpace on 2014-05-29T19:27:44Z (GMT).
