Policy simulations using demand estimates indicate that the impacts of banning television advertising, limiting container size, and limiting calories on total consumption would be similar—an estimated 15.40–15.75 percent reduction. However, limiting calories would have a significantly greater impact on consumption of regular CSDs (–28.89 percent) and on calories consumed from CSDs (–19.34 percent). A tax on calories was least effective in curtailing overall consumption and consumption of regular CSDs. 000164593 650__ $$aAgricultural and Food Policy 000164593 650__ $$aConsumer/Household Economics 000164593 650__ $$aFood Consumption/Nutrition/Food Safety 000164593 650__ $$aHealth Economics and Policy 000164593 6531_ $$aadvertising 000164593 6531_ $$acarbonated soft drinks 000164593 6531_ $$aconsumer behavior 000164593 6531_ $$ademand 000164593 6531_ $$aobesity 000164593 6531_ $$apolicy 000164593 6531_ $$asodas 000164593 6531_ $$ataxes 000164593 700__ $$aLiu, Yizao 000164593 700__ $$aLopez, Rigoberto A. 000164593 700__ $$aZhu, Chen 000164593 773__ $$tAgricultural and Resource Economics Review 000164593 773__ $$jPrepublication Previews 000164593 8564_ $$947bfab37-ea75-4480-b1c9-b1abedd0f6f6$$s272374$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/164593/files/ARER%202014%2004%20Liu%20AgEcon%20Prepub.pdf 000164593 887__ $$ahttp://purl.umn.edu/164593 000164593 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:164593$$pGLOBAL_SET 000164593 912__ $$nSubmitted by Natalie Karst (nataliek@randomfierce.com) on 2014-03-04T03:34:35Z No. of bitstreams: 1 ARER 2014 04 Liu AgEcon Prepub.pdf: 272374 bytes, checksum: 3a82620657d6a25d61198657484cda41 (MD5) 000164593 912__ $$nMade available in DSpace on 2014-03-04T03:34:35Z (GMT).
