It should be a source of growth and an instrument for poverty reduction and contribute to the provision of environmental services. Yet it is still used far below its potential, with gains in land and labor productivity lagging behind those of other regions. Successful use of agriculture for development will require greater attention from governments and donors, supported by scholarship and learning. The economics profession has an important role to play in helping to re-conceptualize in a new paradigm the role of agriculture for development, to design and evaluate new approaches, to contribute to capacity building, to advise on policy and to mobilize political support. 000156657 546__ $$aEnglish 000156657 650__ $$aAgricultural and Food Policy 000156657 650__ $$aInternational Development 000156657 6531_ $$aagriculture 000156657 6531_ $$adevelopment 000156657 6531_ $$asub-Saharan Africa 000156657 700__ $$aJanvry, Alain De 000156657 700__ $$aSadoulet, Elisabeth 000156657 773__ $$q194$$o204$$tAfrican Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics$$j05$$k01$$dSeptember 2010 000156657 8564_ $$9dfd2be97-87b8-4b62-ae4b-402bc3aac4df$$s620094$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/156657/files/1%20%20De%20Janvry%20_%20Sadoulet%20-%20FINAL.pdf 000156657 887__ $$ahttp://purl.umn.edu/156657 000156657 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:156657$$pGLOBAL_SET 000156657 912__ $$nSubmitted by Kirsten Pagel (pagel076@umn.edu) on 2013-09-12T16:09:10Z No. of bitstreams: 1 1 De Janvry & Sadoulet - FINAL.pdf: 620094 bytes, checksum: e25f11cda147e5b75d9f71a795568598 (MD5) 000156657 912__ $$nMade available in DSpace on 2013-09-12T16:09:10Z (GMT).
