A Corn Yield Model Incorporating Planting Progress and Weather Variables

A model for U.S. corn yields is presented that uses mid-May planting progress and July weather variables to augment a simple trend. A review of how the model tracked 1995 corn yields is discussed along with model implications for 1996 corn yields.
