In this study, we analyze the different consumer structures in the fresh and frozen blueberry markets by classifying consumers into “buyers”, “potential buyers” and “non-buyers” of blueberries. A double hurdle count data model is used. The results show that while the fresh blueberry market is mainly composed of buyers, most of the consumers in the frozen blueberry market are non-buyers. The difference in growth trends may be due to the fact that it is more difficult to convert non-buyers to buyers than to increase consumption of buyers. 000103630 546__ $$aEnglish 000103630 650__ $$aAgribusiness 000103630 650__ $$aConsumer/Household Economics 000103630 650__ $$aFood Consumption/Nutrition/Food Safety 000103630 650__ $$aMarketing 000103630 6531_ $$aFresh and Frozen Blueberry 000103630 6531_ $$aDouble Hurdle Count Data Model 000103630 6531_ $$aConsumer Structure 000103630 6531_ $$aBuyer 000103630 6531_ $$aPotential Buyer 000103630 6531_ $$aNon-buyer 000103630 700__ $$aShi, Lijia 000103630 700__ $$aHouse, Lisa 000103630 700__ $$aGao, Zhifeng 000103630 8564_ $$9e09e5c04-80ca-4260-abf6-8839dc5fee3b$$s633814$$uhttps://ageconsearch.umn.edu/record/103630/files/AAEA%20paper%202.pdf 000103630 887__ $$ahttp://purl.umn.edu/103630 000103630 909CO $$ooai:ageconsearch.umn.edu:103630$$pGLOBAL_SET 000103630 912__ $$nSubmitted by Lijia Shi (lshi@ufl.edu) on 2011-05-03T03:48:36Z No. of bitstreams: 1 AAEA2.pdf: 639315 bytes, checksum: a11ee308d13706d34d66dfd6873dc064 (MD5) 000103630 912__ $$nMade available in DSpace on 2011-05-03T03:48:38Z (GMT).
