Registration in the New AgEcon Search

These instructions are available in video format HERE

Registration is NOT required to simply search and download content.

Registration IS required if you need to submit/upload documents OR if you wish to use “Personalize” features (e.g. Alerts, Saved Searches).

As of April 5, 2017, with the move to the new AgEcon Search software, every person submitting must either create a new Account, or re-establish your password (even if you were registered in AgEcon Search in the past, you will still need to re-establish your password).

Establishing a New Account:

  1. From our homepage https://ageconsearch.umn.edu

Click on the “login” link in the upper right:

  2. Click the “Create Account” link:

  3. Enter your e-mail address, Nickname, and Password information and click on Register

  4. The next screen will indicate that you have been sent an e-mail with a special URL. If you do not receive this email within a few minutes, check your spam filter or folder.

  5. The e-mail will contain a link to confirm your registration. You must click on that link to complete your registration.

  6. You will then be logged in and will see the following confirmation message on AgEcon Search, with a link to “your account page” and your Nickname appearing in the upper right corner.

To re-establish Password:

If you were registered in AgEcon Search prior to our migration to the new platform on April 5, 2017 but have never logged in on the new site, you will need to reset your password in the new system:

  1. From our homepage https://ageconsearch.umn.edu

Click on the “login” link in the upper right:

  2. In the Login area click on Forgot Password?

  3. After clicking on Forgot Password? enter your email address and click “Send password reset link”.

  4. Follow the instructions in that email to reset your password and log into our new site.

If you want to Submit/Upload content:

Make sure you have registered following these instructions. Then send an email to aesearch@umn.edu with the name of the series or collection you need authorization to and the AgEcon Search coordinators will be in contact with you. See “To Participate” for more information.
