Livestock Production Systems Impact on the Nicaragua Sustainable Local Development, 1998-2005: Malmquist DEA Index with an oriented Output

The paper aims to study the livestock production systems like they bring to the Sustainable Local Development (SLD), in 1998-2005 periods. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) technique is used in this study, where the Malmquist index calculate the total factor productivity change (TFPCH), so this index is integrated in the sustainable local development model (SLDM) by an econometric design for measuring the SLD brought. The results of this research verify that yard production and forestry sub system explain an increasing trend in the TFPCH. SLDM validation confirms that they bring to less of 50 %, it highlight the forestry and production yard with social and productive variables bringing to SLD.
