Abstract
The meat processing industry is a significant contributor to the Australian economy. It generates substantial employment and export earnings. Hence, the growth of the meat processing industry is an important issue for Australia.
The meat processing industry and its share in total Australian agriculture exports grew marginally over the last few years. The aim of this paper is to quantitatively analyse the effects of productivity changes, as measured by the total factor productivity (TFP) on the share of meat in total agricultural exports.
