Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the level of the information regarding Balanced Scorecard system (BSC) in Slovak enterprises. The BSC system developed by Kaplan and Norton present a strategic approach and performance of management system that enables organizations to translate a company's vision and strategy into implementation. The system consists of four perspectives: financial perspective, customer perspective, business processes perspective, and learning and growth perspective. The research revealed the level of application and utilization of Balanced Scorecard system used by Slovak managers in practice. Paper summarizes suggestions that can help Slovak companies increase their competitiveness and effectiveness of reaching objectives, and accomplish activities designed by strategic managers. The result of the research pointed out the advantages of BSC system, problems of its application, and fulfillment of pointed objectives and problems of information system. The paper proposes planning process and defines causes that might give rise to problems in implementing of this system in Slovak enterprises.
