FOOD AND NUTRITION OPTIONS AND RELATED STRATEGIES FOR SOUTH AFRICA

his article starts with an explanation of some food policy concepts and goes on to look at the availability of food in South Africa. Availability will be discussed in terms of demand and supply and the quantification of certain marketing functions in the food chain will be examined. The article concludes by looking at policy options for improving food security.
