Abstract

The paper describes a DEA-based method for multiple criteria decision making. A problem of multiple criteria decision making is considered here as an efficiency evaluation problem where variants are equal to decision making units, minimization criteria are taken as inputs and maximization criteria are understood as outputs. DEA assurance region method with absolute and relative bounds for weights is then applied for evaluation of variants with interval weights of criteria. The decision-making regarding a choice of a site for location of municipal waste dump has been used to demonstrate the proposed methods. Six variants were evaluated by five criteria: needed area of agricultural land, cost of investments, negative impacts on inhabitants, negative effects on water resources, and dump capacity (years).
