Abstract

The usefulness of a planning technique depends to a large extent on it's ability to take account of the multiple aims of the farmer and his family. Although linear programming (LP) is a very usefull planning technique its ability to account for multiple aims is fairly limited. This paper compares the result obtained from LP with that from goal and multiple objective programming for a case study in the Petrusburg magisterial district.
