Abstract

The production of major grain commodities is of exceptional importance to the agrarian market. Food and feed grain has always been and will be a paying commodity of this market. Competitiveness of its production requires an increase of intensifying factors, especially those influencing biological material, machinery and technologies, and the qualified marketing orientation in the Slovak Republic. The Slovak prices are moderately increasing but this trend does not achieve a level of prices in the EU countries in spite of their decline. Common agricultural policy of the EU has its own rules, which Slovakia must accept in all the spheres of the agrarian market approximation. The next years will show how Slovak producers have conformed to these conditions.
