Potatoes belong among agricultural commodities whose realization on the market depends not only on supply and demand but on significant seasonal changes related to harvesting areas, yields per hectare, total production, storage capacity and their level (technology, air-conditioning, cooling, etc.), orientation and level of food-processing industry, etc. Their use is determined by their preparation and processing, tradition and nutrition customs, distribution, sale, export and import as well as by appropriate sales promotion and advertising. Production and sale of potatoes are, however, in each country significantly influenced by the situation on the European and world markets with fresh potatoes and potatoes products.
